Hotel Categories
Hotel categories in Greece are not what North Americans are used to. Rather
than a star rating system, the Greek Tourist Board rates the hotels on
the basis of letters. A four star hotel would correspond to a Greek “A” category
hotel, a three star hotel to a “B” category, and a two star
to a “C” category, etc.

“A” category hotels have the luxury
that you would expect from a 4 star, spacious, air conditioned
rooms, fantastic locations, pools, exchange services, television,
and great restaurants.

“B” category hotels will not necessarily
have all of the amenities of an “A” class hotel, but
will be clean and comfortable. Most “B” class hotels
will have a pool, air conditioning, restaurant, and a great location.
But there is the odd hotel in which one or more of these amenities
may be lacking.

“C” category hotels will not necessarily
have all of the amenities of an “B” class hotel. Some “C” class hotels
will have a pool, air conditioning and restaurant.

“T” category "Tourist Class" hotels are for the
Budget Traveller. The rooms will be older, but clean and comfortable. Some will have a shared bathroom.
